  1. Hello! I see you just liked my post:

    http://thepollyannafragments.wordpress.com/2011/12/04/the-history-books-forgot-about-us-and-the-bible-didnt-mention-us-not-even-once/

and would like to thank you! As this revolution is paradoxically taking place online, and is largely imaginative, I thank you for your support!
    Cheers,

Aww, thanks!! I’ll put that up and nominate some other blogs today! Oh, and I read your post. I most definitely have less than 200 followers :) (At least proclaimed followers which is all I can really measure!)

Are you the author who works a cash register and writes when she’s waiting for customers to come to her isle? It’s just that you are somewhat familiar to me by now, and my memory is not so good.

  4. This certainly seems like an interesting site. My first question would be: Can anyone comment on publishing through Amazon’s CreateSpace?

    • Lisa Taylor says:

I’ve heard good things about publishing through createspace, though I’ve never done it myself. It does cost money if you want to get a good quality cover and distribution and such, but it doesn’t cost any more than any other subsidy publisher…usually it costs much less.

However, if you want to publish through createspace you need to be prepared to do all your marketing yourself. That doesn’t sound like much, but it’s a huge job. Especially now, it’s hard to get people to spend their money, so I’d take some time to work out a marketing plan before you do it. You can buy limited marketing services from them, but always remember that when you are paying up front, the company has no invested interest in selling your work. That said, createspace is a very reasonably priced and easy option if you want to self-publish.

My recommendation would be to search the internet for small press publishers. They still only take you on if they like your manuscript, but they are free and not as picky as the big publishers. I would only publish through createspace if you couldn’t get with a small press publisher.
